ShockWatch Now Providing Shipping Damage Prevention Internationally

October 30 21:15 2018

London, UK – ShockWatch are providing damage prevention solutions and protecting product warranties by improving quality assurance at the level of shipment, and they are now offering these services on an international scale. ShockWatch utilises cutting-edge impact indicators and tilt sensors00 technology, which ensure there is no possibility of there being any concealed damage to products that have been shipped.

Shipping a package involves a degree of risk, especially when package handlers at shipping facilities mishandle the items in their care. The likelihood of damage to a package greatly increases when that package is shipped internationally. ShockWatch aims to better secure the satisfaction of individuals and businesses alike with their innovative, proprietary technology. A full description of the services they provide is available at http://www.shockwatch.co.uk.

ShockWatch protects against shipping damage with their ShockWatch devices. These devices are made of a clear tube containing a red dye suspended in a solution.  When one of these devices is impacted beyond a pre-specified amount of G forces, the shock will disturb the surface tension of the liquid and release the red dye throughout the tube. The dye indicates that a package has potentially been damaged.  The normal stresses of shipping won’t trigger the device, but once a specific impact has been received, the device cannot be tampered with or reset.

The devices come in varying levels of sensitivity represented by five different colours. They provide an alert to potential damage. The effect of this has been the modification of the behaviour of package handlers. The devices encourage the workers at shipment facilities to handle the packages with greater care and to be more aware of the potential damage that packages may incur.

ShockWatch also provide protection for packages that need to be kept upright.  For a full list of their tilt solutions visit http://www.shockwatch.co.uk/shock_tilt_solutions.htm.  Tilt Indicators are activated once the backing is removed, and they are attached to a package to record any unacceptable tilting on packages that must stay upright.

Like the shock impact devices, these tilt sensors turn red upon being triggered but won’t be activated by regular movement from shipping and airplane take-offs.  Their devices provide 360° monitoring and record the angle of the tilt or whether a package has been completely upended. This product also makes handlers more aware of fragile packages.

Whether one is sending a package to a friend or shipping large containers for a business, keeping packages from being damaged is a major concern.  ShockWatch provides a wide variety of sensors to help insure that packages stay free of damage. Their solutions are helping to change the way handlers treat packages.
