Soon, he finds himself smuggling liquor from Mexico during the prohibition era in the United States. After a bank job goes wrong in Gary, Indiana, Bedford is sentenced to 25 years in prison. Filled with regret and determined to turn his life around, he seeks a second chance, one which will come in the form of Martha Salb.
