The Parallel Agency, a company founded in 2020 to help higher education institutions and organizations, is dissolving effective September 1, 2023. Over the course of three years, the organization has left an indelible mark on the landscape of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the higher education space. Founder, Nicki Joiner, and her team successfully scaled the agency, serving more than 60 clients and impacting the lives of thousands of people. The agency’s dedication to fostering inclusive communities earned them acclaim, including multiple awards from the Association of Fraternity and Sorority Advisors, and trusted partnerships with organizations like the Northeast Greek Leadership Association (NGLA) and the Southeast Greek Leadership Association (SGLA).
Joiner is realigning her strategic initiatives and will continue to help people navigate diverse environments with confidence and understanding. As an individual speaker and consultant, she will leverage her expertise to conduct workshops, deliver keynote addresses, offer strategic consulting, and introduce innovative peer-led DEI programs. Joiner’s approach stands apart – she tailors her messages to specific audiences and topics, bridging the gap between speaker and listener. Her effectiveness is evident, with 93% of participants finding her sessions practically useful, 96% attesting to their engagement, and an astounding 97% expressing their desire to attend future sessions. With a history of collaboration with organizations like NASA, Meeting Professionals International (MPI), Diva Dance HQ, and 40+ colleges and universities, Joiner brings a wealth of experience to her new endeavor.
“I owe so much of where I am today to the community around me, and I’m eager to carry that spirit into the future,” Nicki Joiner. Nicki’s new venture aims to create innovative solutions in response to the current legislative challenges faced by colleges/universities and companies engaging speakers like her. She envisions transforming the industry as not just a speaker, but a thought partner and catalyst for lasting change. Nicki sees this opportunity as a way to partner with organizations beyond the presentation, driving year-round efforts that are not confined to a singular program or event.
