With decades of experience, Mr. Polanin has provided advice to various high-ranking officials in the United States government, including the President, the National Security Council, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of State, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and other senior defense officials and military officers from both the U.S. and many allied nations. His comprehensive expertise lies in national security matters, specifically in areas such as geo-political risk, strategic communication, public relations, intelligence oversight, current operations, logistics coordination, strategic planning, technology, training and education, audits and inspections, financial risk, and legal and policy compliance.
Mr. Polanin has over 20 years of successful experience in Command leadership, overcoming insurmountable obstacles for global organizations and enterprises in high-threat environments, where he exceeded expectations. He has a proven track record of developing and effectively communicating a bold vision, unifying diverse entities to achieve that vision, and inspiring highly talented individuals to surpass ambitious goals ahead of schedule and within budget. Mr. Polanin’s company, The Alaka’i Leadership Group, was inspired by and founded together with his daughters. He has deployed a unique consultative process forged from best practices he learned leading successful high-performance teams, both small and large, in solving complex global problems and defeating threats in times of peace and war. Before embarking on his current professional career path, Mr. Polanin earned his bachelor’s degree at The United States Naval Academy, a Master of Business Administration from Grand Canyon University with highest honors, as well as a Master of Arts degree in Strategic Security Studies as the distinguished graduate from The College of International Security Affairs at the National Defense University.
Throughout his illustrious career, Mr. Polanin has received many awards and accolades and has been recognized worldwide for his accomplishments. This year he will be featured in TIP (Top Industry Professionals) Magazine. He will be honored at IAOTP’s annual awards gala at the NYC Plaza Hotel this December for his selection as Top Executive Global Strategy Leader of the Year.
During his remarkable career, Mr. Polanin has successfully led both U.S. and international teams in implementing a groundbreaking whole-of-government approach that enforced United Nations Security Council resolutions against North Korea. He led a team of over 300 senior government officials from eight countries, including leaders from the Ministries of Defense and Foreign Affairs. Their efforts were instrumental in persuading the North Korean leadership to put an end to illicit smuggling activities and achieved a significant breakthrough in diplomatic relations. With experience living in over 75 countries, he possesses a strong grasp of societal and cultural dynamics.
