She could only find poor-quality products with little regulation on the ingredients used. Fueled by her love for Julius and Marcus, a terrier mix who joined the family soon after, and the need to help pets and pet owners everywhere, she felt compelled to create a brand dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of dogs. So, Barkus was born.

Armed with her decade+ experience in the clean beauty industry and extensive expertise in brand, identity, and industrial design, Vernadette created a dog odor-neutralizing spray that works by eliminating unpleasant smells and conditioning the dog’s coat, making pets a pleasure to be around.
