October 20, 2023 – Noted sports psychology practitioner, Ashley Eckermann, is pleased to announce the launch of the No Positive Thinking Challenge, November 5 – 9th. This free challenge is aimed at helping student-athletes, from junior high to collegiate levels, master the mental game of competitive sports in a fun and effective way.
Studies show that strong mental skills make the difference between an average athlete and an elite athlete. Sports training typically focuses on physical skills, working on drills and techniques yet success comes down to how the athlete responds to pressure, makes decisions, overcomes fear, and becomes consistent – mental skills that can be taught to, and mastered by, anyone. During The No Positive Thinking Challenge, Eckermann will be teaching young athletes how to develop the winning edge by conquering their inner game, using the same strategies and methods she engages with her Olympian clients.
“The name of the challenge may surprise you,” explains the Challenge’s creator, Ashley Eckermann, “but athletes often share with me that they hesitated to work on their mental game because they assumed it was just positive thinking and they ‘aren’t any good at that stuff.’ I always respond back with, ‘Well that’s not what we do and trust me I don’t think positive thinking works either.’ Athletes aren’t going to repeat something they don’t believe, so instead they ignore the mental aspect of training and wonder why they aren’t improving.”
She continues, “I want athletes to know they can develop a strong mental game without positive thinking or being fake. At Maximize the Mind, we teach the most highly researched and scientifically proven tools to help ease tension, limit overthinking and actually compete more assertively. You’ll leave this challenge with concrete strategies to destroy bad habits and unlock how to rewire your brain, not just a bunch of theories. Discover specific brain hacks inside this challenge to be more competitive than you thought possible because you don’t have to be born with confidence, you can manufacture it.”
“She has taught me many valuable lessons that apply to both my sport and life,” explains Madison H. “One of my favorites was labeling all my nervous energy as excitement; it gave me so much confidence!”
“My son did not hesitate for a second, he went head-on to the ball and literally crashed through the two strikers sending them to the ground,” says Steve B. “He was aggressive, he was physical, he was focused, he played with vision, I can’t thank you enough for what you’re teaching him.”
The No Positive Thinking Challenge is free and runs November 5 – 9th. For more information: www.NoPositiveThinking.com
