HAITI – October 21, 2023 – In a heartwarming story that deeply resonates with Haiti Air Ambulance (HAA)’s mission, the organization proudly celebrates the remarkable journey of Jacquelin, a Haitian EMT with an extraordinary journey into a Registered Nurse. His inspiring transformation serves as a testament to the indomitable spirit and unwavering determination of individuals within the communities HAA serves.
Jacquelin began his journey as a Haitian EMT for HAA, serving his community in the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. His commitment and thirst for medical knowledge quickly set him apart, and he excelled at Hospital Bernard Mevs, earning a place on the pioneering team of EMTs at Haiti Air Ambulance.
Then, Jacquelin’s aspirations reached even higher. Driven by his dreams, he saved every hard-earned penny for five years to pursue nursing school in Florida. Despite facing language challenges and having limited formal education, Jacquelin’s determination shone through, and he thrived in the program.
In August 2023, Jacquelin reached a remarkable milestone—he conquered the NCLEX nursing licensing exam, a challenging test conducted entirely in English. In doing so, he officially became a Registered Nurse in the state of Florida.
Haiti Air Ambulance is immeasurably proud of Jacquelin, who exemplifies the organization’s commitment to making a difference. Join HAA in celebrating Jacquelin’s remarkable journey and the unwavering spirit he brings to the Haitian community. His story serves as a reminder that, together, we can surmount any obstacle and leave an enduring mark on the world.
