Bestselling fantasy author Alesha Escobar has become a prolific writer whose independently published books have risen to wide popularity among readers. Now, Escobar is giving her fans the opportunity of a lifetime: dive in and become a part of her upcoming book in exchange for a Kickstarter pledge to help cover the expenses of screenwriting.
When Escobar set out to write her first book in 2011, she knew she had an amazing idea. Traditional publishing wasn’t interested in her idea, though, so she set out to independently publish “The Tower’s Alchemist”. This would become the first of the ‘Gray Tower Trilogy’, and it quickly became a bestselling book on Amazon.
“The Tower’s Alchemist” is an alternative World War II in which magic is critical for victory. Main character Isabella George is a British spy and alchemist. Isabella wants to retire and find romance, but instead, she finds herself in Paris, where she is determined to destroy “the Plague”, an alchemical weapon of war. She is exposed, and soon, a vampire named Marc is in pursuit to steal her powers. In the midst of it all, Isabella explores romance with not one but two men. “The Tower’s Alchemist” and the ‘Gray Tower’ trilogy are historical fiction pieces that helped to cultivate a strong following for Escobar as an author and help propel her to bestselling status.
Escobar is setting out again to take her books further. She recently pitched “The Tower’s Alchemist” to a film producer, and he was hooked. Now, with a producer interested in developing the book into an on-screen adventure, Escobar is setting out to hire a screenwriter. The original book will need to be adapted for the screen, which is why a screenwriter’s expertise is needed.
A newly launched Kickstarter campaign gives fans the opportunity to support the film adaptation of “The Tower’s Alchemist”. Pledgers will receive rewards based on their contribution, including behind-the-scene glimpses for the adaptation, pre-production news, digital motion storyboards, and being placed as a character in the upcoming “Secrets of the Gray Tower: An Illustrated World Book”.
This all-new illustrated adaptation will detail the Gray Tower universe like never before, and it will be released to insiders in April/May 2024. The best way to become an insider is to be a Kickstarter pledger. The campaign ends on November 21, 2023.
