Dr. Shaurice Mullins, a native of Greenville, is helping entrepreneurs, coaches, and consultantswho struggle with launching, growing, and scaling their businesses to release mindsets, mental blocks and habits that block their ideal lifestyle so they can increase their income, make a bigger impact, and live the life they truly desire. Her journey now will include the national “Fab Over 40” competition.
The contest winner will be determined by online votes, and it supports the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
“Fab Over 40 is a competition where women come from all over the world to compete, purely by votes, to be named the best ‘Fab Over 40,’” said the 49-year-old Mullins.“What I love is that it also supports an amazing cause, the National Breast Cancer Foundation, which is helping women now by providing early detection, education, and support services to those affected by breast cancer.I am super passionate about breast cancer education, prevention, as well as other causes that support and uplift women.”
Mullins said the contest is about holding a space for other women and being true to herself. “It’s always about personally growing and scaling by releasing old mindsets, mental blocks, and habits that block me from living my ideal lifestyle,” said Mullins, who is known as Dr. M.
The graduate of North Pitt High School and the daughter of the late Thomas “Big Daddy” Mullins and Annie Mullins.
After going through many hardships, losses, and failures, she bounced back stronger than ever. It was after bouncing back from poverty to becoming a millionaire that shewrote her life’s mission and goal.
“I will empower both men and women who may feel as defeated as I did. I will let them know that it is possible. If it can happen for me, it can happen for them.”
And that is what she set out to do by creating her own company, called Shaurice Mullins International (SMI), with a brand that she says she works “empowering and supporting individuals through significant changes that inspire lifelong growth, helpingindividuals develop (become), and ultimately crystalize a new reality.”
SMI’s vision is to help others by providing a clear road map toward positive change, which happens at the core level of mind. By realizing their full potential through continual trajectory shifting, the necessary transformative thoughts, attitudes, and actions will follow to bring about a desired goal.
Mullins said a friend talked her into applying to be part of Fab Over 40. The winner of the competition will receive a two-page spread in New Beauty magazine, $40,000 cash, and a spa-cation. Supporters can vote on the website: https://votefab40.com/2023/shaurice-mullins.
“When I was first approached about this competition, I totally ignored it,” she said. “I do not do competitions and a another “so-called contest” where you must compete against others is not my thing! But after getting another phone call about it, I thought, what if I used this platform to raise more awareness because there is never enough. And what if it about other women and not about me. “
Dr. M’s Advice for Women
What is your favorite tip to stay fabulous?
My favorite tip to stay fabulous is to be true to yourself. Being real no matter how ugly it may look, not considering the feelings of others over your own, caring about your own happiness is the true path to being fabulous. Although being selfish sometimes gets a bad rap, there is power in selfishness. Do not let anyone tell you otherwise.
What advice would you give your younger self?
I would tell my younger self to punch every fear in the face, give it a TKO, step right over it and do not look back. I would tell my younger self: “Do not believe WHO others told you are. KNOW without a doubt WHAT you are, and nothing will ever break you, defeat you, or take your power away from you. There is nothing outside of you that comes even close to the inner power you possess. Accept and acknowledge that as your truth and you will be an unstoppable force.”
What would you do with the $40,000?
I will invest this money in my current efforts, which is uplifting and coaching young girls who currently do not have access to sanitary pads, uplifting women with training and financial grants to start their own businesses. Expand the SMI coaching programs to be able to offer more training and live events around the world. The funding will assist Shaurice Mullins International (SMI) in making a bigger impact.
